In pairs, each player chooses a character: Mr Gerund or Mr Infinitive. Starting on any path at the bottom of the maze, players take turns moving their counter one square. Players can only land on verbs that match their character. When a player lands on a suitable verb, they say a sentence using the verb followed by a gerund or infinitive, depending on their character. If the sentence is correct, the player stays on the square. If not, the player returns to their previous square. If a player's path is blocked or they cannot move forward, they return to the bottom and start again from a different path.
